Amygdala Connectivity

Connectivity of the amygdala is key for its functions:

  • Basolateral nucleus of the amygdala is considered to be a 'gateway' to the amygdala. 

  • It is the major site receiving inputs from sensory systems — the visual, auditory, somatosensory (including pain), olfactory, and taste systems all have inputs to this region.
